Abbi Pulling suffered a series of Silverstone setbacks which included a starter motor and suspension failure, denying her the results her pace deserved.

The GB3 Championship returned to Silverstone after a month summer break for Round 5 of the 2026 season, with Abbi Pulling and Rodin Motorsport looking to build upon their strong pace around one of the UK's most iconic circuits.

Abbi was immediately competitive in testing, finishing P5 in both of the opening sessions before improving to P4 in Test Session 3.
That pace continued into Free Practice, with Abbi again finishing P5 in FP1 and FP2 before delivering another standout performance in FP3 where she topped the times heading into qualifying.

Abbi carried that speed into Q1, setting the fourth-fastest time to secure a second-row start for Race 1.
Q2 however proved more challenging, after a front-wing endplate failure caused significant understeer and prevented Abbi from extracting the full potential from the car.
She nevertheless secured P8 for Race 2.

Race 1 saw Abbi start from P4 and take a cautious approach to the opening laps, dropping back to P6. With the field settling into position and overtaking proving difficult even with DRS enabled, Abbi maintained P6 throughout the race and brought the car home to secure some solid points at the chequered flag.

Starting from P8 in Race 2, Abbi made a more aggressive and positive launch as she looked to make progress through the field. She held her position through the early stages but ultimately struggled for the outright pace required to move further forward, struggling with balance which hampered her progress up the pack.
Abbi crossed the line in P10, now setting her sights on Race 3 and another opportunity to fight back.

Race 3 would sadly produce another dramatic setback. Abbi was due to start from P5 but suffered a starter motor failure while leaving the pits, forcing her to take the start from the pit lane - putting her at the back of the field in P20.

Undeterred, Abbi immediately set about recovering the lost ground as she left the pits. Despite no formation lap and being able to prepare the tyres, she caught the pack within just three laps and began making progress through the field, moving forward to P16 as she continued to fight her way into the points paying positions.
However, with just one lap remaining and to rub salt in the wounds, a rear suspension failure on the entrance to Copse sent Abbi into a spin and into the gravel - bringing a gutting end to a race which promised so much, but ended with zero luck.

"The results haven’t quite reflected the work we’ve been putting in recently, and that can be tough, especially when I know what we’re capable of. Having the suspension fail during the weekend made things even more difficult, but that’s racing sometimes.

The win at Spa was a reminder of what we can do, and the harder weekends are all part of learning, improving and coming back stronger.

There were still positives to take from Silverstone, plenty to work on, and I’m even more determined to keep pushing forward!

While the final results didn't reflect Abbi's pace, there is still plenty of oppourtunites for her luck to turn heading into the final three rounds of the season - starting at Brands Hatch on the 5-6 September for Round 6 of the GB3 Championship.
