Fresh off the back of a promising final race at Silverstone, Rodin Cars Ambassador Abbi Pulling headed to Brands Hatch GP for Round 6 of the 2025 GB3 Championship.
In the sole representative practice session on Saturday morning, Abbi set a strong pace to finish P6 in the run up to Qualifying later that morning.
Qualifying 1 saw Abbi in 7th position until the final minute of the session, where she was blocked by a rival driver and had to abort her lap – which was hugely unfortunate as three other drivers were able to improve, meaning she would start the opening race of the weekend from P10.
Qualifying 2 shortly after was a session that saw every driver’s best lap, peak in the middle of the session. Abbi set the 9th best laptime, just 0.13s from a Top 5 – in a very tightly contested session.
Race 1 saw Abbi make a great launch from P10, making a bold overtake around the outside of Turn 2 on Kai Dariyanani to move herself up to P8 at the end of the opening lap.
She would shadow her Rodin Motorsport teammate Gianmarco Pradel throughout the race, hovering in the DRS zone but was never able to get in range for an overtake – as the Rodin pair ended up in a DRS train from the car ahead.
Abbi would cross the line in P8 to round out the opening race with a solid points haul.
Sunday saw a delayed start to the second race of the weekend to later in the afternoon. Abbi started from P9 and held position at the start. Despite a Safety Car interruption, the race was very stagnant – again with a DRS train playing a factor in limited overtaking opportunities for Abbi, as she finished a solid P9 and another top-ten finish.
The third and final race of the weekend saw Abbi start from P4. Despite a difficult launch off the line, she slotted into P6 in the early stages – holding her own and keeping the pressure on the cars infront in the battle for the top 5.
Half way through the race, the Safety Car was deployed following an accident ahead, elevating Abbi to P5.
She made a very strong restart, applying heavy pressure to her rivals in front - making full use of the slipstream to move herself three-a-breast into ‘Hawthorn's’ on the ‘GP loop’ of the circuit.
Her two rivals ahead made contact and Abbi seized her opportunity, slipping through on the inside – moving up into P3 , before a Safety Car was deployed once again into the final minutes of the race.
With not enough time to restart the race with another racing lap, Abbi crossed the line to finish in 3rd position – claiming her maiden GB3 podium in the process!
Abbi Pulling:
"I'm absolutely delighted to get my first bit of silverware in the GB3 Championship!
I felt it was only a matter of time, but it’s been a bit of a tough season so far and it feels nice to get that monkey off my back!"
"It really does feel like I have really turned a corner since the last round at Silverstone and I have some really good momentum now."
"As always, a special thank you to Rodin Motorsport for the excellent car and Rodin Cars for making this possible!
A big thank you also to F1 Academy, all my sponsors and partners - and to all the fans who have travelled down, sent me messages and given me so much love and support."
"I know I still have areas to improve on, such as maximising my Qualifying and I feel then I will be scoring the really big points - but I am very excited to get the next two weekends underway at Donington Park and Monza to round out the season."
After claiming her first podium of the season in a thrilling Brands Hatch GP finale, Abbi will be next in GB3 action at Donington Park GP, for round 7 of the GB3 Championship on the 4-5 October.
