The RODIN Cars Ambassador headed to Zandvoort for Round 2 and Races 4-6 of the 2025 GB3 Championship.
Following Friday’s Testing, Abbi got herself up to speed acclimatising with the faster and higher downforce RODIN Motorsport machinery, compared to the F1 Academy and British F4 car from last season.
The first of the two 15-minute Qualifying Sessions saw Abbi’s first flying lap put her inside the top-ten, before a Red Flag came out before she could further improve.
The session restarted with 5-minutes to go, enough for 2 flying laps – which saw Abbi finish P13 on the timesheet.
Qualifying 2 took place just 20 minutes later, with small time for setup changes and run-plans. Abbi was able to improve on the lap-time she set in the first session – once again finishing the session P13, just outside of the reverse-grid pole position slot.
Race 1 on Saturday afternoon was initially disrupted with an aborted start – where the race was shortened by 2 minutes.
Abbi had a difficult opening lap, struggling to generate tyre temperature and dropped to P16 after the opening lap.
Lap 6 would see Abbi move up to P15 – then she gained another position just one lap later.
Abbi would hold this position to the chequered flag, finishing the opening race in P14.
Race 2 on Saturday morning saw Abbi embroiled in an early battle – putting up a robust defensive, followed by a bold re-passing manoeuvre to maintain P13.
As the race approached half distance, Abbi had closed in for the battle for P12 and not far away from the top-ten positions.
She finished P13 at the flag, despite closing in on the battle ahead, with good tyre management, finishing just 1.7s off P10.
The third and final race of the weekend, starting once again from P13 – Abbi made a good start in a frantic opening pair of laps, dicing with teammate Alex Ninovic but ultimately retaining position, before the Safety Car was deployed at the start of lap 3.
The race resumed on Lap 6, where Abbi had small contact with a rival on the exit of Turn 1, before the Safety Car was once again called - due to a three-car pileup at Hugenholtz Corner.
Abbi resumed the race in P11 with just over 2-minutes of the race to go.
She chased down her rival ahead, but narrowily missed out on a top-ten finish by 0.4s at the chequered flag.
Abbi Pulling:
"A hard weekend in the office, I just didn't put the car where I think it was capable of - especially after the strong performance of Silverstone... but you learn more from days like these! "
"I ended up Qualifying P13, which is where I had to start every race. I was struggling a bit with overall grip throughout the weekend - just missed out on the top-10 in Race 2 and Race 3."
"But looking forward... I will be working hard on things I can improve on myself, alongside what we can do to make the car a bit more comfortable and back to the results we have shown we are capable of."
"As always, a big thank you to RODIN Cars, all my sponsors and partners for all their support!
I'm looking forward to going racing again in Spa - it's a track I've never been too before so I am looking forward to the ahead."
It was a challenging weekend for Abbi, but she will be back in action for the next round of the GB3 Championship at Spa-Francorchamps on the 30th May – 1st June, in just two weeks’ time.
